BBQ'S ON CANNOCK CHASE |
||
|
Good evening,
Following the large fire on Cannock Chase on Friday evening, we would like to remind everyone of the serious dangers posed by BBQs, especially during periods of warm and dry weather.
BBQs and open fires are banned on Cannock Chase to help reduce the risk of wildfires and protect this beautiful natural environment, local wildlife, and nearby communities.
Even a small spark, discarded disposable BBQ, or hot ashes can quickly ignite dry grass and vegetation, causing fires that spread rapidly and put lives, property, and emergency services at risk.
✅ Please help keep Cannock Chase safe by: • Not using BBQs or lighting fires on the Chase • Taking litter home, particularly glass bottles which can intensify heat • Reporting any signs of fire immediately by calling 999
We all have a role to play in protecting Cannock Chase. Please respect the restrictions and help prevent further incidents.
